Section 40(1) in Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920
(1)The State Government may, by 'notification, remove any [vice-chairman] [Substituted for 'chairman or vice-chairman' by Tamil Nadu Act No. 15 of 2011, dated 06.09.2011, w.e.f. 12.9.2011.], who in their opinion, willfully omits or refuses to carry out or disobeys the provisions of this Act or any rules, by-laws, regulations or lawful orders issued thereunder or abuses the powers vested in him.
