	Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a  writ of  mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner vide., Roll No.13TE51200997 for selection for the post of the School Assistant (History) on the basis of his selection under TNTET Examination held on 2013 and in furtherance of the notification dated 14.07.2014, vide Advertisement No.02/2014 issued by the 2nd respondent for filing backlog vacancies.

ORDER

A notification was issued on 22.05.2013 calling for applications for the Teacher Eligibility Test for the year 2013 from the eligible candidates in the State of Tamil Nadu. The petitioner applied for the examination, which was held on 18.08.2013. It is the case of the petitioner that he has obtained two degrees viz., B.A. History and B.A., English. As there was no option, he opted for English for the Teacher Eligibility Test. Though he has opted for English, he is entitled to be considered for both subjects viz., English and History. In such circumstance, the petitioner has made a representation on 13.08.2014 to the second respondent. As no orders have been passed, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for in this writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, a direction is issued to the second respondent to dispose of the representation dated 13.08.2014 made by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
