W.P.No.29440 of 2007:
This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to entertain the petitioner's application, dated 16.8.2007, for the grant of a mini bus permit for the route:- Thoppur cross road to Kambukudimalai returned in Endt.No.62195/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007, and consequently to direct the second respondent who is the competent authority.

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to entertain the petitioner's application, dated 16.8.2007, for the grant of a mini bus permit for the route:- Pudur Nadu to Kambukudimalai returned in Endt.No.62197/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007, and consequently to direct the second respondent who is the competent authority.
W.P.No.29442 of 2007:
This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to entertain the petitioner's application, dated 16.8.2007, for the grant of a mini bus permit for the route:- Singarapettai Malai Adivaram Stream to Pudur Nadu returned in Endt.No.62196/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007, and consequently to direct the second respondent who is the competent authority.

Mr.A.Arumugam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.
2. With the consent of the learned counsels appearing on either side, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal.
3. Heard the learned counsels appearing for the petitioner as well as the respondents.
4. It is submitted that the petitioner, who had filed these writ petitions, has submitted applications for the grant of minibus permits before the first respondent, along with the required fee by way of demand drafts. However, the said applications have been returned by the first respondent in Endt.No.62195/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007, in W.P.No.29440 of 2007, Endt.No.62197/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007 in W.P.No.29441 of 2007 and Endt.No.62196/A2/2007, dated 28.8.2007 in W.P.No.29441 of 2007, stating that the petitioner had not paid the prescribed fee for the applications for grant of minibus permits and the petitioner was requested to remit the fee at the Regional Transport Office, Vellore, and to submit the applications.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay the required fees in cash at the Regional Transport Office, Vellore, as provided under Rule 132 of The Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had also prayed for a direction from this Court to the first respondent to accept the fee to be paid by the petitioner in cash and to entertain the applications for the grant of minibus permits as prayed for by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law.
6. Mr.A.Arumugam, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
7. On such submissions being made by the learned counsels appearing for the parties concerned, the first respondent is directed to accept the fee to be paid by the petitioner in cash, and to forward the applications filed by the petitioner for the grant of minibus permits to the second respondent, who shall pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of such applications.
With the above directions, the writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
