(3)"academic year" means, a period of twelve months commencing on the first day of July of the year or such other period of twelve months beginning on such date as the [Executive Council] [Throughout the Act for the words 'Board of Management' the words 'Executive Council' substituted by Act No.13 of 1995.] may specify in respect of all the colleges under the control of the University or any particular college thereof;
