The present petition has been filed by the petitioner herein who has been ladened with an electricity bill amounting to Rs.13,40,436/-. The bill is at page 29 of the petition and it clearly reflects that the electricity board has admitted its error in not informing the petitioner that in the HT connection that was taken by him, there is no waiver of the electricity bill for a period of three years. Therefore, it is clear that the petitioner has consumed the electricity using the HT line under the ignorance that there was no bill waiver for the period of three years.
As this is an undisputed fact and the error has been owned up by the respondent no.2, it cannot be said that the petitiioner is entirely at fault in this case. The petitioner is willing to pay the electricity bill in installments of Rs.50,000/- per month, as so stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner. The same is acceptable to the respondent no.2.
Under the circumstances, this petition is finally disposed of with a direction to the petitioner that he shall deposit Rs.50,000/- every month towards the arrears in electricity bill to the respondent no.2 and shall receive the receipt for the same. In the event that there is a default on the part of the petitioner, the respondent no.2 shall be free to take such steps available to it under the law.
The petition stands finally disposed of.
