                                 ORDER

1. The grievance made in the present letter petition sent by Mr. Vilasini Ramkumar and others is against Burial ground inside the Kembattahalli lake premises at Thalaghattapara. The applicants have complained that there have been multiple burials at the lake premises in violation of environmental norms after the lake was handed over to the BBMP at the start of 2020 by demolishing the wall which was being built to demarcate the burial ground from the lake premises which is nothing but a systematic approach of encroachment on lake.

2. In view of the averments made in the present letter Petition, it would be appropriate to have a factual and action taken report from a Joint Committee comprising of State Wetland Authority, State PCB Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Greater Bengaluru and Collector, Bengaluru. The State PCB will be the Nodal agency for coordination and compliance. The Joint Committee may meet within four weeks, 1 undertake site visits, look into the grievances of the applicants and take requisite remedial action by following due process of law. Factual and action taken report may be furnished within two months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF.

List the matter for further consideration on 28/07/2022. A copy of this order, along with a copy of the complaint, be forwarded to the State Wetland Authority, State PCB Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Greater Bengaluru and Collector, Bengaluru by e- mail for compliance.
