55.
If the summons or notice, when tendered, is declined by the defendant or his agent, or a male member of his family, besides the proof required as to identity, etc., as stated above, it should be proved that the party was informed that the document tendered was summons or notice, and that he was made acquainted with the nature and contents thereof.
