Section 39(1) in Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995
(1)Without prejudice to the provisions of this Act, the competent authority may, by notice, call upon any person who has committed a breach of [the provisions of section 5 or 20] [Substituted 'the provisions of Section 20' by Punjab Act No. 21 of 2014, dated 27.8.2014.] to show cause why the structure should not be demolished and if such person fails to show cause to the satisfaction of the competent authority within a period of fifteen days, the competent authority may pass an order requiring him to demolish the structure within sixty days from the date of the order.
