Section 41 in The Gujarat Technological University Act, 2007
41. Dismissal, removal, reduction and termination of service of staff of the University.
(1)No officer or employee or member of teaching, non-teaching and other academic staff of the University shall be dismissed or removed or reduced in rank except after an inquiry in which he has been informed of the charges against him and given a reasonable opportunity of being heard in respect of those charges:Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to any person who is appointed on purely temporary basis only.(2)An appeal against an order of dismissal, removal or reduction in rank under subsection (1) or of termination of service shall lie to the Vice-Chancellor within sixty days from the date of communication of such order and the decision of the Vice-Chancellor in such appeal shall be final.
