19. General Duty of the Presiding Officer and Polling Officers.
- The Presiding Officer shall be present at the Polling Station at least one hour before the time notified for commencement of the poll with the required number of ballot boxes, the ballot papers and the copy or copies of the electoral roll/rolls of the Gaon Panchayat, Anchalik Panchayat or the Zilla Parishad Constituency, as the case may be.It shall be the general duty of the Presiding Officer to maintain peace and order of the Polling Station and to see that the poll is fairly taken and it shall be the duty of the Polling Officer at the Polling Station to assist the Presiding Officer in the performance of his functions.
