Date : 09.01.2026 Heard Mr. S. Borthakur, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K. Baishya, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.
2. By invoking the provisions of Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 the Page No.# 2/2 accused petitioner Sri Amit Sinha is seeking anticipatory bail in connection with Crime Branch P.S. Case No.12/2025 registered under Sections 316/318/61 of the BNS, 2023.
3. The case was registered based on FIR dated 14.12.2025 in which the petitioner along with three others were named, who were cricket players, and the gist of the allegations is that they are involved with other people in corrupt practices to manipulate games.
4. The case diary has been received along with bail objection wherein the I/O has objected to grant of bail. Investigation has revealed the complicity of the petitioner in cricket match fixing and investing money in such match fixing and manipulated games. Witnesses have testified regarding the same. The police has been investigating into the racket of match fixing in regional cricket which has been discovered upon this investigation.
5. In the given facts and circumstances, it may not be prudent to continue the interim bail, in view of the ongoing investigation trying to go to the root of the matter. In such view of the matter, the instant bail petition stands rejected. The interim anticipatory bail granted to the petitioner on 19.12.2025 stands vacated.
