Section 2(11) in The Punjab General Clauses Act, 1898
(11)"commencement" used with reference to a Punjab Act [-] [The words 'or East Punjab Act' inserted by the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948, were omitted by the Adaptation of Laws (third Amendment) Order, 1951.] shall mean the day on which the Act comes into force :
