Section 2(55) in The Orissa Municipal Corporation Act, 2003
(55)"market" means any place where persons assemble for the sale of, or for the purpose of exposing for sale of any article including livestock, food for livestock, meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, animals excluding cattle intended for human consumption or any other article of human food whatsoever with or without the consent of the owner of such place, notwithstanding that there may be no common regulation of the concourse of buyers and sellers and whether or not any control is exercised over the business carried on in or on the persons frequenting such place by the owner thereto for any other person;
