(1)The Academic Council shall be in-charge of the academic affairs of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes and Ordinances made thereunder have control over, and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of instructions, education and examinations and for the requirements for the award of degrees and diplomas.(2)The Academic Council shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the Statutes and shall advice the Vice-Chancellor on all academic matters.
