Section 88(1)(vi) in The Maharashtra Agricultural Universities (Krishi Vidyapeeths) Statutes, 1990

(vi)The Vice-Chancellor shall then make the appointment of a person or persons only from amongst the persons recommended by the Selection Committee. If he wishes to deviate from the order of merit recommended by the Selection Committee, he shall record the reasons thereof and obtain the approval of the Executive Council before making appointment.
