Section 4(5) in The Tamil Nadu Abolition of Posts of Part-Time Village Officers Act, 1981
(5)The Village Administrative Officer shall perform the duties relating to the collection of land revenue, taxes and other sums due to the Government, maintenance of village records and such other duties (including the implementation at the village level of the schemes of the Government) as may be assigned to him by the appropriate authority, from time to time.
