(1)An Adhakshya, or an Up-Adhyaksha or a member of a Zilla Panchayat may resign his office by notifying in writing his intention to do so to the Prescribed Authority and on such resignation being accepted the Adhakshya or the Up-Adhakshya or the member shall vacate his office and casual vacancy shall be deemed to have occurred in such office;Provided that a person tendering resignation may withdraw his resignation before it is accepted.
