Section 17 in The Calcutta Tramways Company (Taking Over Of Management) Act, 1967

17. Power to make rules. -

(1)The State Government may make rules for carrying out the purposes of this Act.
(2)In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:-
(a)the powers and duties of the Administrator including the manner of keeping accounts;
(b)interest to be paid in respect of advances under sub-section (1) of section 8;
(c)any other matter which has to be, or may be, prescribed.
(3)Every rule made by the State Government under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before [* * *] [Words 'each House of omitted by Order No. 1504-L, dated the 31.7.70, published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, dated the 31.7.70, Part I, page 1708.] the State Legislature while it is in session for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following,[the State Legislature agrees] [Words substituted for the words 'both Houses agree' by Order No. 1504-L, dated the 31.7.70, ibid.] in making any modification in the rule or [the State Legislature agrees] [Words substituted for the words 'both Houses agree' by Order No. 1504-L, dated the 31.7.70, ibid.] that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.
