31. Effect of suspension and cancellation of certificate.
(1)On and from the date of the suspension of the certificate, the [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).] shall cease to carry on any activity as a [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).] during the period of suspension, and shall be subject to the directions of the Board with regard to any records, documents or securities that may be in its custody or control, relating to its activities as [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).].(2)On and from the date of cancellation of the certificate, the [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).] shall, with immediate effect, cease to carry on any activity as a [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).], and shall be subject to the directions of the Board with regard to any records, documents or securities that may be in its custody or control, relating to its activities as [custodian] [Substituted 'custodian of securities' by Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2019/01, dated 1.1.2019 (w.e.f. 16.5.1996).].
