Seventeenth Loksabha an> Title: Demand to provide railway stoppage at Keeranur railway station and to construct two over bridges in Thiravappur and Karuvappalan area in Tiruchirappalli Parliamentary Constituency Tamil Nadu.
SHRI SU. THIRUNAVUKKARASAR (TIRUCHIRAPPALLI): Sir, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to raise an important issue connected with my Tiruchirappalli Constituency regarding Railways. Trains going through Keeranur railway station should stop there. Already stoppage is there. Rameswaram and Pallavan, both trains go through the town which is a Taluk headquarters and town Panchayat headquarters also. In and around, so many villages are there. About three lakh people will be benefited. An agitation is going on there. They are requesting me also to come and sit with them to get the trains stopped there. If I do, I might get arrested and you will have to save me from going to jail. So, I request that stoppage of the trains should be allowed there. Secondly, there are two over bridges in Thiruvappur and Karuvappalan area for which the State Government of Tamil Nadu has allotted 50 per cent cost of construction. These two bridges should be constructed in Tiruchirappalli Constituency at the earliest. Thanks.
