1 On mentioning, the matter is taken on the Board. 2 The petitioners have assailed the Office Memoranda dated 15 February 2024 requiring the personal presence before the Committee of Privileges, inter alia, of:
(i) Shri Rajeev Kumar, DGP/IGP, Government of West Bengal;
(ii) Dr Hossain Mehedi Rehman, Superintendent of Police, Basirhat, North 24 Parganas District;
(iii) Shri Partha Ghosh, Additional SP, Basirhat, North 24 Parganas District;
(iv) Shri Bhagwati Prasad Gopalika, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal; and
(v) Shri Sharad Kumar Dwivedi, District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas District.
3 Issue notice, returnable in four weeks. 4 Mr Devashish Bharuka, senior counsel appears on behalf of the first respondent. Notice is waived on behalf of the first respondent. 5 There shall be a stay of further proceedings in pursuance of Office Memoranda dated 15 February 2024 (Annexure P-5 & Annexure P-6) issued to the petitioners.
