Section 21(2B) in The Unit Trust Of India Act, 1963
(2B)Where the payment of any sum becomes due on, or in respect of, any unit held on behalf of a minor, such payment shall, subject to the provisions of the scheme, be made to the parent by whom the purchase of such unit was applied for or by whom suchunit was acquired, as the case may be, and such parent shall be entitled to receive such payment for and on behalf of the minor; and in the event of the death of the said parent, such payment shall be made to the lawful guardian of the minor.Explanation.--References in this section to "parent" shall be construed as including references to step-parent.] [Inserted by Act 16 of 1975, Section 5 (w.e.f. 29-3-1975)]
