Section 4(3) in Assam State Acquisition of Zamindaries Act, 1951
(3)(a)All arrears of rents, royalties, cesses, fees and other dues together with interest if any which were payable to the proprietor or tenure-holder in respect of such estate or tenure and the recovery of such was not barred by limitation shall cease to be payable to such proprietor or tenure-holder and shall be recoverable by the State in the manner prescribed.(b)If such arrears are payable by any tenure-holder whose tenure has vested in the Government, these shall, without prejudice to any other mode of recovery, be recoverable, if the Deputy Commissioner so orders, by deduction from the compensation money payable under this Act.(c)All arrears of revenue, local rates, cesses and other dues lawfully payable by the proprietor whose estate has vested in the State shall in like manner be recoverable, if the Deputy Commissioner so orders, by deduction from the compensation money without prejudice to any other mode of recovery.
