Section 31(4)(a) in Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973

(a)the Selection Committee for the appointment of a teacher of the University (other than the Director of an Institute and the Principal of a constituent college), shall consist of -
(i)the Vice-Chancellor who shall be the Chairman thereof,
(ii)the Head of the Department concerned :
