Section 2(a) in The Maharashtra Aerial Ropeways Act, 1956
(a)"aerial ropeway" means a system of overhead ropes on which carriers are used for the purpose of carriage of passengers, animals or goods and includes posts, ropes, carriers, stations, offices, warehouse, workshops, machinery and other works used for the purposes of, or in connection with, and all land appurtenant to, such aerial ropeway;
