% 28.07.2020 Status report dated 23.07.2020 has been filed.

2. Nominal roll dated 24.07.2020 and medical status report dated 23.07.2020 have also been received from the Jail Superintendent.

3. The status report says that the address furnished by the petitioner is not correct inasmuch as the statement of a person who resides at the given address was recorded, who says he does not know anything about the applicant or his family members. The other persons of the area, from whom inquiries were made, also did not verify the particulars of the petitioner.

4. Admittedly, the petitioner's wife passed away in January 2020 and the whereabouts of the children are not known.

5. Mr. Rahul Mehra, learned Senior Standing Counsel (Criminal) for the Govt. of NCT of Delhi further points-out that the petitioner W.P.(CRL.) No. 1013/2020 Page 1 of 2 has undergone only about 05 months as a convict, although he has been in custody for about 04 years and 07 months as an undertrial. However the Delhi Prison Rules 2018 require custody of at least 01 year as a convict for an inmate to become eligible for parole.

6. Mr. Anuj Kapoor, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks some time to consider the status report and take instructions from the petitioner.
