Background
1. The Appellant filed an RTI request dt.15.5.08 with the CPIO, BSNL, Almora. He wanted information against 4 points regarding the tender documents related to the Annual Maintenance of Window / Split A/Cs for the year 2006-2007. The CPIO replied on 4.6.08 stating that copies of requested documents would be provided in due course of time. The Appellant filed an appeal dt.20.6.08 with the Appellate Authority. On not receiving any reply, the Appellant filed a second appeal dt.2.9.08 before the CIC
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing for January 21, 2009.
3. The Appellant, Mr. Praveen Gautam was present during the hearing.
4. The Respondents were not present Decision
5. The Commission directs the CPIO to provide the information sought in the RTI request, within 15 days of receipt of the Order.
5. The Commission also directs the CPIO to show cause as to why no information was furnished within the mandatory period prescribed in the RTI Act. The information to be sent to the Commission within 15 days of receipt of this Order.
