Section 4(d) in Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University Act, 2014
(d)to hold examinations and to grant and confer degrees, diplomas, certificates and other distinctions to and on persons who-(i)shall have pursued a course of study in the University or in one of its colleges unless exempted therefrom in the manner prescribed by regulations and shall have passed the examinations prescribed by the University; and(ii)shall have carried on research under conditions prescribed by the regulations;
