210. Keeping of pony or bicycle. [§ 12, Act V, 1861].
(a)Where a horse or pony can be used, Sub-Inspectors posted at police-stations shall keep a serviceable animal, on which a fair day's journey can be made. Where roads are suitable and local conditions favourable, a bicycle may be used instead of a pony. Station officers shall not ordinarily use the railway for journeys on duty.(b)For rules regarding travelling by bullock-cart, see regulation 59(6).
