Section 810(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)Officers of the Indian Police and Bengal Police Service may be granted by the Inspector-General privilege leave and leave on average pay for periods not exceeding six weeks and permission to prefix or affix Sundays and gazetted holidays to such leave. The Inspector-General is empowered to make the necessary officiating arrangements in place of officers of the Bengal Police Service granted leave in accordance with Appendix XLII.
