Section 90(h) in Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966
(h)"zone" means a local area comprising a taluka or a group of talukas or portions thereof, of one or more districts, which in the opinion of the State Government or an officer authorised by it, in this behalf, is contiguous and homogeneous in respect of -(i)physical configuration,(ii)climate and rainfall,(iii)principal crops grown in the local area, and(iv)soil characteristics.
