Section 14(5) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(5)The Dean shall be the Chairman of the Faculty and be responsible for the faithful observance of the Statutes and regulations relating to the faculty and for the organisation and conduct of the teaching, research and extension work of the departments comprised therein. In carrying out the research and extension programmes he shall work in dose co-operation with the Directors and the Associated Directors of Research and Extension respectively.
