Section 3(viii) in Indian Institutes of Management Rules, 2018
(viii)The selection of the Chairperson shall be made with the consent of at least two thirds of the members present and voting and more than fifty percent of the members of the Board in a special session to be convened at least thirty days prior to the completion of the tenure of the current incumbent.
