- The objects of the University shall be as follows, namely:-(a)making provision for imparting education in veterinary' and allied sciences;(b)furthering the advancement of learning and conducting of research in veterinary and allied sciences;(c)undertaking the extension education through appropriate media in veterinary and allied sciences;(d)making provision for the study of basic sciences with a view to supporting other professional studies and thereby integrating such studies in the University curriculum;(e)undertaking the integration of teaching, research and extension education in veterinary and allied sciences with a view to promoting the productivity of animals and livestock ;(f)conferring such degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions as the University may deem fit; and(g)such other purposes, not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act which the State Government may, on the application by the University, by notification in the Official Gazette. specify in this behalf.
