(3)The functions of the Board shall be as follows:-(a)The Board shall consider and recommend promotion, transfer and posting of the officers in the rank of Superintendent of Police and above up to the rank of Inspector General of Police.On the recommendations of the Board, the Director General of Police shall send the proposals to the Government for appropriate action.For promotion, transfer and posting of officers above the rank of Inspector General of Police, the Director General of Police shall send the proposals to the Government for appropriate action.(b)The Board shall function as a forum to deal with the representations from officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police and above. The Board shall examine such representations and send its recommendations to the Government by the Director General of Police.(c)The Board shall also make recommendations to the Government for award of Medals.
