Section 50(2) in The Assam Co-operative Societies Rules, 1953
(2)Saving Bank deposits. - All co-operative societies with limited liability other than agricultural credit societies and other type of societies in rural areas which make adequate provision for fluid resources as provided for in the rules, may accept savings bank deposits both from members and non-members, subject to rules for deposits framed by the society and approved by the Registrar.
