Section 12(vi) in The U.P. Electricity Supply (Consumers) Regulations, 1984
(vi)The average power factor of the plant and apparatus operated by the consumer must not be less than 0.85. In the event of non-compliance of this provision, supply of electricity is liable to remain disconnected till suitable arrangements are made by the consumer to raise the power factor to the prescribed figure.
