                     PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of
                     India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the
                     respondents herein to consider and implement G.O.Ms.No.171 dated
                     10.03.25 and further to consider the representation submitted by the
                     petitioner and consequently to take immediate steps for the improvement
                     and development of the Fishing Landing Centre, by treating the same as
                     an immediate requirement in the interest of Disaster Management,
                     Coastal Security and protection of the livelihood of fishermen.

                                                               ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus directing the respondents herein to consider and implement G.O.Ms.No.171 dated 10.03.25 and further to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner and consequently to take immediate steps for the improvement and development of the Fishing Landing Centre, by treating the same as an immediate requirement in the interest of Disaster Management, Coastal Security and protection of the livelihood of fishermen.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned counsel 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis ( Uploaded on: 30/01/2026 12:47:10 pm ) WP(MD). No.1447 of 2026 for the first respondent and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the other respondents. By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3.Seeking to implement G.O.Ms.No. G.O.Ms.No.171 dated 10.03.25, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondents on 31.12.2025. The said representation was given for taking immediate steps for the improvement and development of the Fishing Landing Centre in the interest of Disaster Management, Coastal Security and protection of the livelihood of fishermen. Since the said representation was not considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the official respondents would submit that the respondents are in the process of implementing the said G.O. However, they are not in a position to completely implement the same on account of pending permission from the Coastal Regulation Zone. Once the permission is obtained from the Coastal Regulation Zone, implementation would be fully complied with.
