Ravi Malimath, A.C.J. (Oral) This writ petition is filed in public interest seeking for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to take serious steps for completing the formalities for executing the projects for connecting the alienated villages, namely, Lachampur-Nakayal and Vijaypur-Pahadpani with the mainland.

2. Counter affidavit has been filed by the State. In the counter affidavit, they have stated that they have already taken steps for the said purpose; and they have crossed the Stage-I of the said project. It is further stated that they have gone on to Stage-II and that necessary permissions from the Union of India has not been obtained.

3. Learned standing counsel for the State submits that all necessary permissions will be taken by them and they will proceed with the project. It is further submitted 2 that the State is not opposed to the project, and that it is only a matter of time.

4. In view of the submissions made, we are of the considered view that it is not necessary to keep the matter pending. The submission of the learned standing counsel for the State, that they will complete the project as expeditiously as possible, is placed on record.

5. The writ petition is disposed off accordingly.
