Section 4(1) in Delhi Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 2004
(1)Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary to protect against destruction, injury, alteration, mutilation, defacement, removal, dispersion or falling into decay and for preservation any -(a)monument;(b)archaeological site and remains;It may, by notification in the official Gazette, give two months' notice of its intention to declare such monument to be a protected monument or such archaeological site and remains to be a protected area, as the case may be, and a copy of every such notification shall be affixed in a conspicuous place on or near the monument or site and remains, as the case may be.
