281. Carrying on trade, etc., without license or in contravention of section 280 .-Whoever carries any trade, calling or occupation for which a license is required without obtaining a license therefor or while the license therefor is suspended or after the same has been cancelled, and whoever, after receiving a notice under section 280, uses or allows to be used any building or place in contravention thereof, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees and, in the case of a continuing offence, with an additional fine which may extend to five hundred rupees for every day after the first during which the offence is continued.
