Section 55 in Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989
55. Chairman and members to be public servants.
(1)Every member including the Chairman of the Panchayati Adalat shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Ranbir Penal Code, Samvat 1989.(2)The provisions of the Judicial Officers Protection Act, 1971 shall apply to every Panchayati Adalat and to every member thereof while acting judicially.
