Section 2(2) in The U.P. Regulation Of Money-Lending Act, 1976

(2)Nothing in Section 12 shall apply in respect of any loan of a sum exceeding rupees five thousand advance to a registered money-lender or to a contractor or any other person carrying on any profession, trade or industry.
