Section 28(1) in The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981
(1)The council may, and if so required by the Government shall, join with one, or more than one other local authority in constituting a joint committee for any purpose in which they are jointly interested or for any matter for which they are jointly responsible.
