24. Officers holding inquiries to have powers of civil courts.
- Any officer or authority holding an inquiry or hearing an appeal under this Act shall have the powers of civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act 5 of 1908) relating to-(a)proof of facts by affidavits,(b)enforcing attendance of any person and his examination on oath,(c)production of documents,(d)issuing of commission,and every such officer or authority shall be deemed to be a civil court within the meaning of sections 480 and 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Central Act 5 of 1898).
