Section 24 in The Control and Management of Ferries Rules, 1968

The shall provide and maintain light throughout the night on each side of the ferry ghats to incandescent lamps of not less than 200 candle powers each and of a type approved by the Executive Engineer/Sub-divisional Officer, as the case may be.The lamp shall be hung up in a suitable place to illuminate the landing place one on each bank of the river and shall be kept alight throughout the night. The lessee shall also provide a lamp on each marboat and single boat when plying at night.
