18. Officers to be deemed public servants.
- Every officer authorised or empowered by the [State] [The word 'State' was substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government to exercise any power or to perform any duty under this Act shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (XLV of 1860).
