2. Applicant, who is M.Sc. (Mathematical Statistics) was promoted as PGT (Maths). However, a show cause notice dated 19.02.2008 was issued to him to propose reversion on the ground that M.Sc. (Mathematical Statistics) is not the prescribed qualification for PGT (Mathematics) as per recruitment rules.

In response to the above show cause notice, applicant produced a certificate issued by Department of Statistics and Operational Research, Kurukshetra University dated 3.03.2008 certifying that degree of M.Sc. (Mathematical Statistics) from the Department of Mathematics, Kurukshetra University is the eligibility for appointment of Lecturer in Mathematics at 10+2 level as any person having M.Sc. (Mathematics). 4. In the light of the above, the above certification by Kurukshetra University be verified by the respondents from the Department of Statistics and Operational Research, Kurukshetra University and if it is concluded that the qualification possessed by the applicant is equivalent to M.Sc. (Mathematics), the same shall be acted upon to withdraw the show cause notice and restoring the applicant his promotion within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Pending this consideration, the impugned order shall be kept on hold. No costs.
