Section 31(3) in Himachal Pradesh Waqf Rules, 2016
(3)The Returning Officer shall there after hold a summary inquiry into the challenge and may for that purpose-(a)require the challenger to adduce evidence in proof of the challenge and the person challenged to adduce evidence in proof of his identity;(b)put the person challenged any question necessary for the purpose of establishing his identify and require to answer them on oath; and(c)administer an oath to the challenger and any other person offering to give evidence.
