Section 6 in The Gujarat Cotton Seeds (Regulation of Supply, Distribution, Sale and Fixation of Sale Price) Act, 2008
6. Functions of Controller.
- The Controller appointed under this Act shall perform the following functions, namely:-(a)arrange for mandatory registration of cotton seeds firms which are engaged in the trade of cotton seeds duly indicating the production aspects and areas of operation etc;(b)arrange for payment of compensation to the farmers;(c)advice the State Government on matters relating to regulation of sale of cotton seeds by way of compulsory DNA finger printing test or genetic purity test; and(d)such other matters as assigned to him by the State Government.
